How do I create share links for files/folders?

From Web-Manager, select the files/folders that you want to share with others, using the checkboxes. Click the 'share folder/file' to choose your sharing options. Select SSL to create SSL enabled links. You can password protect your files/folders to ensure that it is viewed only by the intended recipients. There is a provision to write-enable your shared files/folders so that others can modify them and upload them back to your online backup account. Further, you can choose the 'Locking Enabled' option for your shared files to avoid any mistaken overwriting. After committing these settings, click the 'Generate Share' button. You are prompted to enter the email addresses of the recipient(s) with whom you want to share the files.

You can view an interactive demo for file sharing.

What are the limitations of share links?

The share links for files/folders created using Web-Manager have a limited life span and expire after a certain number of downloads. If you need to share some data on a permanent basis, then 'Sub-Accounts' is the best solution. For details, see Sub-Accounts.

The Internet Service Provider's spam filter is removing IBackup share emails. What is the work-around?

IBackup has the provision to share data using the default built-in client or your own email client (like Outlook/Outlook Express/other email client). The option to 'Send using your email program' on the share page appears once you choose the necessary options to create the share.
