How is data encrypted on transmission?

All data transfer between the IBackup Professional application and the servers is encrypted using 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology, the industry standard encryption for data transmission.

How is data encrypted on storage?

All data stored on the IBackup Professional servers is encrypted using an encryption key, with the key known only to you. The application uses industry standard AES 256-bit encryption* on storage - ideal for the security needs of financial, healthcare and government organizations.

WARNING: IBackup Professional does not store the encryption key anywhere on its servers. It is recommended that you archive it in a safe location. Without it, you will not be able to retrieve data. However, if you opt for the default encryption, you need not remember the encryption key.

* Some earlier accounts may have been configured for a 128-bit RC4 encryption.
