Oracle

Backup your Oracle server databases to your account in a secure and reliable manner. IBackup backs up your running databases with no downtime ensuring business continuity in the face of a data disaster.

There are a few special settings that you need to make, while performing Oracle Server backup/restore:

  • The Oracle database selected for backup must be in the ARCHIVELOG Mode.
  • For remote backup, select the temporary directory on the computer where the Oracle server service is running. Ensure that the temporary directory selected on the computer for the local backup of the Oracle server is mapped from a remote location and has sufficient space to hold the Oracle server backup resources.
  • You must have the SYSDBA privileges.

System Requirements

For Oracle 12c(12.2)
  • AMD64 or Intel Extended memory (EM64T)
  • 2 GB RAM
  • Hard disk space of about 10 GB
  • Sufficient space in the hard disk to store the database backup files
  • Windows 2003 Operating Systems

For Oracle 11g

  • Intel (x86),AMD64 or Intel Extended memory (EM64T)
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Hard disk space of about 5.22 GB
  • Sufficient space in the hard disk to store the database backup files
  • Windows 2003 Operating Systems

For Oracle 10g
  • Minimum 200 MHz processor.
  • Minimum 256 MB RAM (512 MB recommended).
  • 1.5 GB hard disk space.
  • Sufficient space in the hard disk to store the database backup files.
  • Terminal Server Edition with service pack 6a or higher, Windows 2000 with service pack 1 or higher, Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional.

 For Oracle 9i:
  • Pentium 166 MHz or higher processor.
  • 128 MB RAM (256 MB recommended).
  • Hard disk space of about 140 MB on the System Drive with an additional 4.5 GB for the Oracle Home Drive (FAT) or 2.8 GB for the Oracle Home Drive (NTFS).
  • Sufficient space in the hard disk to store the database backup files.
  • Windows 2000 with Service pack 1, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Operating Systems.
