When I run IBackup Professional on Windows 2000, I get an error message stating that it is unable to connect to the server. Why?
Should you encounter a message during login to IBackup Professional that reads, 'IBackup Professional encountered a critical exception due to which it could not continue,' some possible reasons might include:
1. Your operating system may not support the level of encryption (128-bit) required for IBackup Professional.
You could be running IBackup professional application with a version of Windows 2000 that does not support high-level encryption (RC4 CryptoAPI). To resolve the issue, download the high encryption pack support from Microsoft's website:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/recommended/encryption/
Thus, this is applicable only to users running Windows 2000 without SP2 or higher. SP2 for Windows 2000 usually upgrades the encryption pack to support high levels of encryption, such as those used by IBackup Professional.
2. Your operating system may be running a Internet Explorer <6.
We recommend that you upgrade it to Internet Explorer 6 or higher.
Can I restore my backed up data to multiple computers / any computer of my choice?
Yes. You can restore data backed up to your IBackup Professional account to any computer of your choice - using the IBackup Professional application. For this, install the IBackup Professional application on the particular machine(s) to which you would like to restore the backed up data.
