| What is Sync feature?
The Sync feature lets you match the contents
of your IBackup Professional account to exactly the
same as that on your My Computer for the
selected files/folders existing on your IBackup Professional
account.
This is a very useful option if you have been backing
up regularly, and now you have cleared up some data
on your computer and wish to clear the same on IBackup
Professional account as well as to bring them in sync.
However, we recommend you to use this feature carefully
only after you completely understand how the sync feature
works.
|
 |
|
| How does Sync feature
works?
Once you click on the Sync icon on your
Restore tab of IBackup Professional, the
application displays the list of files/folders that
are not present currently on your My Computer,
but those that are still available on your IBackup Professional
account. You need to select the files/folders that you
wish to delete from your account. Once that is done,
by pressing the Sync button here, you will
be able to delete those files/folders from your IBackup
Professional account.

| What are the options available for individual file retrievals?
Retrieval of files from your IBackup Professional account basically has three options namely:
- Restore to different destination directory/drive
- Restore to the same directory without overwriting the original file
- Restore to the same directory overwriting the original/source file (Not recommended)
We usually recommend users to use the second option during restoration of their files i.e. Restore to the same directory without overwriting the original file.
Note: Files restored using this option will have the version suffix towards the end of the file to prevent overwriting the source file with the same possible name. |
