IBackup is compatible with Macintosh platform. You can use IBackup Drive for Mac if you are using Mac OS X and higher. For lower versions, we recommed using IBGoliath. You can also use IBackup's browser based Web-Manager to browse and share the files using any standard browser for Macintosh. IBackup strongly recommend that you use Stuffit to compress the files before you transfer them to IBackup accounts, either using FTP or Goliath.

Your online backup/storage IBackup account can be accessed using FTP on the Mac platform. Suggested FTP Clients are Fetch and Transmit.

You can drag and drop files from Mac using IBackup Drive for Mac.

The default WebDAV client has the following limitations:

1. Inability to transfer large files.
2. Lack of SSL support for transfer of files and folders between your IBackup account and your local machine.

IBGoliath is recommended for transfer of large files as well as its SSL support for MacOS X.

IBackup recommends IBackup Drive for Mac for transferring files between Windows and Mac platforms.

Do file icons on your storage system look exactly like the icons on my Mac and Can files be opened directly from your disk ?

You have two options for this. One - use IBackup Drive for Mac. This is probably the easiest way.

Other solution is to mount a WebDAV volume on your OS X. For this, you need to mount the IBackup account on Mac OS X. Select the Connect to Server command from the Finder (Finder, GO, Connect to Server) or press Command K. Within the Connect to Server window, type in the name of the IBackup's url to your account. Ex: http://webdav.ibackup.com/users/mjohn/Files . Replace 'mjohn' with your username.

Yes, IBackup strongly recommends that you use Stuffit to expand and install the .sit file. A free version of stuffit is available at Stuffit Download Page.
