Backing up of the MS Exchange Server database to your IBackup account.

IBackup for Windows ‘Exchange Server Backup‘ wizard guides you with a simple step-by-step approach to backup your MS Exchange Server database to your IBackup account without interrupting running MS Exchange Server services. Please follow the following steps to backup the MS Exchange Server to your online IBackup account.

Step 1

User may access the Exchange Server Backup option from the main menu item: Advanced Backup > Exchange Server > ‘Exchange Server Backup’

To view the steps involved for Restore of MS Exchange Server using IBackup for Windows.

Step 2

Select the MS Exchange Server ‘Public Folder’ store/ ‘Mailbox’ stores that you need to backup to your IBackup account.

Step 3

Click on the ‘Browse’ button to select a temporary location on your local computer to store the MS Exchange Server backup resources.

Note : Please ensure that the selected temporary directory on the local computer has sufficient free space to hold the MS Exchange Server backup resources.

You are not allowed to select the temporary location for MS Exchange Server backup on the remote location.

Step 4

Click on the ‘Next’ button to select a destination directory on your IBackup account.

After selecting the destination directory on your IBackup account, you may schedule the backup for a future date/ time with various scheduling options.

Important Note : After a successful backup of the MS Exchange Server databases to your IBackup account, the backed up MS Exchange Server resources are stored under a folder called ‘IBackupExchBackupset’. It is not recommended to update/ delete files manually in that folder. If any changes are made to the ‘IBackupExchBackupset’ folder, this might interrupt your Exchange Server restore operations. Also, please note that you are not recommended to use the ‘IBackupExchBackupset’ as a destination folder for any other backup/ restores operations.

At any given point of time, the user would be able to maintain only one backup job named 'IBExchangeServerBkset'.
